​MPI are assisting our client based at RAF Cranwell & Barkson Heath  with their temporary role (up to April 2023) with possibility of extension.

Rates negotiable - discussed on application.

Job Title: AEA Supervisor  - Aircrew Equipment Assemblies SPVR

Cranwell: Early 0700 to 1530, Day 0800 to 1630 and Late, 0930 to 1800
Barkston Heath: 0700 to cease flying but it is usually no later than 1800
 
Our Client operates over  two sites (within a few miles of each other) so Cranwell is their main base with flying also happening at Barkston Heath as well. Shifts at Barkston are usually 1 week out of 3.

This role is deemed out of Scope of IR35 (small company exempt)
Pay Rates to be confirmed.


Qualifications, Experience  ESSENTIAL
Appropriate recent practical experience and expertise in survival equipment maintenance
Previous experience as in an AEA section
Recognised RAF Survival Equipment Course (or civilian equivalent)
Recognised Q-SE-AC or AvMedSE qualification 
Recognised Human Factors training

Essential Technical Competencies

Knowledge of the organisations AEADE
Detailed knowledge of AEA
Knowledge of maintenance methods
Understanding of professional integrity, behaviour and attitude toward safety
Understanding of his/ her own human performance limitations
Understanding of personnel authorisations and limitations
Ability to consider human performance and limitations
Ability to identify and rectify existing and potential unsafe conditions
Ability to understand work orders and refer to applicable ICA

Ability to work collaboratively with varied stakeholder groups

Core Responsibilities and Duties/Skills

Ensuring that all AEA supplied is the correct size and fit for service use;
Safeguarding that Aircrew/Student are issued with the correct scale of serviceable AEA in a timely manner prior to them commencing their flying training
Warranting that all items of AEA/SE issued are to be recorded on an AEA/SE issue pro-forma, signed and dated by the recipient;
Preparing a maintenance plan for periodic cycles in order to maximize the availability of serviceable AEA & SE items;
Ensuring that sufficient quantities of items are available to support the flying training programme;
Ensuring sufficient stocks of serviceable/compliant drill equipment is made available to allow for both “dry” and “wet” drill AEA and SE for RAF Valley and RAF Cranwell Aircrew and Students;
Observing safe working practices and regulations laid down by higher authority governing the conduct of his/her trade duties;
Compliant with the provisions of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), the Health and Safety at Work (HSW) Act and the regulations arising and relevant to his/her area of responsibility;
Ensuring that all activities including AEA & SE maintenance comply with the current Quality Assurance Plan, identify non-conformities and escalate to the AEA Manager for their resolution;
Demonstrating and exercising responsibilities and implementation of safe working practices for the function where required;
Guaranteeing safe custody of all equipment and stores within his/her area of responsibility;
Sharing knowledge and compliance of the regulations governing the conduction of the function, escalating where appropriate any non-conformities and irregularities to the AEA Manager;
Maintaining and promoting Flight Safety at all times with internal/external stakeholders;
Make certain that the upkeep, maintenance and safe custody of all AEA & SE Documentation are completed, legibly and correctly in accordance with the current procedures;
Confirming the maintenance, rectification and modification of AEA and SE located at RAF Cranwell, RAF Barkston Heath and RAF Valley are undertaken in accordance with the relevant authorised publications and instructions 
Responsible for the checking the amendments to publications/manuals are inserted and the publication/manual amendment record updated accordingly; 
Make certain that the upkeep, maintenance and safe custody of all AEA & SE Documentation are completed, legibly and correctly in accordance with the current procedures;
