​MPI are assisting our client with their Permanent role for Aircrew Equipment Assembly (AEA) Deputy Manager

To be based at     RAF Cranwell and Barkston Heath
Job Level    Salary £40,000 per annum with 28 days holiday and access to a  Health Care Cash Plan

Ensuring the delivery of the contracted service to the customer, ensuring stocks of serviceable AEA and SE is made available to the aircrew population based at RAF Cranwell, RAF Barkston Heath & RAF Valley.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Required
Essential Experience
Appropriate recent practical experience in a senior supervisor/management role connected to the management and maintenance of Aircrew Equipment Assemblies (AEA) and Survival Equipment (SE)

Appropriate recent practical experience and expertise in Survival Equipment (SE) and Aircrew 
Equipment Assemblies (AEA) maintenance

Experience in managing AEA and SE Equipment inventories
Desirable Experience
Previous experience running an AEA section
Experience working with regulatory bodies
Experience of Safety Management Systems
Experience in managing and being responsible for a team in a safety critical environment
Essential Qualifications    Desirable Qualifications
Recognised RAF Survival Equipment Course (or civilian equivalent)
Recognised Q-SE-AC or AvMedSE qualification
Recognised Human Factors training

Experience in lieu of qualifications considered    ·    
Recognised management experience and/or qualifications

Essential Technical Competencies    
Detailed knowledge of AEA and Survival Equipment
Knowledge and application of maintenance methods on AEA and SE
Ability to fault find and carry out diagnostics on both AEA and SE    
Knowledge and experience of MoD Maintenance Forms
Knowledge and experience of the ModNet IT system

Liaising and maintaining communication channels with both the Customer (MoD) and Client (Ascent) in order to ensure the successful delivery of the services;

Responsible for the completion of staff Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) in accordance with Affinity Company policy;

Ensure RAF Cranwell, RAF Barkston Heath and RAF Valley AEA Staff Trade Authorisations are kept up to date and are not allowed to lapse;
