PERMANENT VACANCY
ASSISTANT FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
MPI are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller for a permanent position for our client who is based in Towcester, Northamptonshire.

Primary Purpose of this Position:
The assistant controller will be a key member of the UK finance team. This will require the candidate to be capable of successfully operating in a rapidly evolving organization, handling multiple priorities, demonstrating creativity in development and management of policies, procedures and processes, and maintaining a broad knowledge of the financial recording and reporting requirements related to various governmental initiatives.
Contributing to managing the daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounting cycle; statutory compliance; and related processes for the UK entity.
Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner and reconciling items are resolved.
Ownership of global Fixed Assets reporting and reconciliation
Ownership of GRIR reporting and reconciliation
Ownership of intercompany across the Business unit.
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely UK GAAP financial statements and completing the supporting statutory packages for corporate consolidation.
Coordinate and help manage external and internal audits
To make sure the UK finance team has sound documentation for our quarterly SOX review
Assisting in all UK tax related reporting, inclusive of government filings for Corporation Tax, R&D, VAT, WHT and ONS Returns and ensuring all payments are made timely.
Assist in leading the department’s UK GL operations, internal controls and reviews, financial standards compliance and audits (both internal and external)
Producing the UK Management Accounts pack for the UK Managing Director’s review
Effectively manage change within the group and/or organization resulting from change in processes, policies and/or acquisitions.
Assisting in adhoc finance projects as and when they occur
Qualifications/Requirements
Recently qualified from a recognized Accounting body (ACCA, AIA, ICAEW, CPA, etc.) and relevant experience in accounting management including leading teams of accounting professionals.
Experience in the defense / technology industry is a strong plus.
Self-motivated, autonomous, and proven “do–it yourself” attitude.
High energy level with a hands-on approach combined with the ability to provide leadership and structure in a fast paced dynamic environment.
Experience with SAP suite; building SOX compliant processes; utilizing financial applications to enhance and automate processes, reporting, analysis and controls highly desired.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Salary
A competitive salary will be offered for the right individual, this will be discussed at application stage.
37.5 hours a week
Please note that because of the defence related nature of their business the successful candidate will be required to undergo security clearance vetting. Candidates must have worked and lived in the UK for the past 5 years.
