Role Summary
A fantastic opportunity to support the NPCT and Deputy NPCT within the training team.
This is within the the Companies UK AOC and serves to support the management of the Crew Training Department, including assisting with the delivery of departmental projects and contributing to the development of training programs and teams. The role supports the promotion and development of training standards within the Company and ensures training is conducted in an effective and compliant manner, promoting operational safety. The position supports both ATO and AOC crew training.
The role will report to the clients UK Nominated Person Crew Training. To supplement and support the training department, experience as TRI/TRE/SFI/SFE essential although this does not need to be current but must be evidenced. Additional experience in airline management and familiarity with safety management systems is beneficial.
The successful candidate will work a flexible pattern with line flying duties undertaken approximately one week a month. The working pattern will include one week off every four weeks. Applicants qualified as a B737 instructor/examiner may also occasionally conduct simulator training/examining. Office working will be conducted on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
To assist with the tasks detailed in the Companies Operations Manual for the Nominated Person Crew Training (NPCT)
Maintain familiarity with company and regulatory required training requirements.
Recommend changes to training practices, policies and materials to improve airline safety, compliance and efficiencies.
Specific duties will include:
Monitor operational and training performance and report specific training matters to the NP Crew Training.
Recommend and support the implementation of new training methods and content.
Support and manage training teams in the design of recurrent training materials.
Monitor and evaluate training reports to identify individual and pilot trends.
Monitoring the progress of crews during initial and operator conversion training.
Assist with the standardisation of training and checking across company fleets.
Perform departmental compliance inspections and trainer assessments.
Assist with and lead projects as required by the NP Crew Training.
Support the implementation of an electronic training records system.
Investigate training department related safety reports.
Contribute to the updating of company and departmental operational procedures.
Assist with the development of B737 training materials.
Academic/Educational Requirements
Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent.
Required Skills/Experience/knowledge:
MUST Hold a B737 Type Rating (minimum of 1500hrs on type)
Experience as a TRI/TRE/SFI/SFE on any multicrew type.
Flexible on work pattern to meet demand of the training department.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an airline training role.
Comprehensive Knowledge of UK Air Operations & Aircrew Regulation.
Familiarity with the requirements of initial and recurrent crew training.
Confident IT skills specifically Microsoft Office including Word & Excel.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and encourage colleagues.
Confident ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent risk and mitigation awareness.
Proven planning & organisation and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to support and influence change.
Able to encourage the development of standards in others.
Attention to detail & quality minded.
Desirable Skills/Experience/knowledge:
Previous airline management experience
Familiarity with airline management systems including Flight Data Monitoring, Risk Management & Safety Management.
Candidates must have as a minimum of 4000 hours, with 2000 multicrew time.
Salary will be discussed prior to interview and is dependent on qualifications.
Therefore the Assistant NPCT would depend on the type rating you have - ideally B737, and having some proven experience of writing policies and processes.
The salary would be different if you are ATR type – this is because our client have different salary structures and the role would undertake flying duties as well.
