MPI have a requirement for a Field Service Manager to be based in Gosport, Hampshire.
This is a permanent role, and the rate of pay will be discussed on application.
Purpose and Scope:
This role of Field Service Technician requires competence in all tasks related to the disassembly, inspection, balancing and assembly of a turboprop and turbofan engines in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and established company procedures.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.
Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, quality procedures, manufacturers and customer specifications and industry regulations.
Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Canada and Honeywell publications, work instructions including overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins.
PT6A Hot Section Inspection, Power Section Repairs, Borescope Inspection and Maintenance Manual Level Tasks
JT15D Hot Section Inspection, Fan and Maintenance Manual Related Tasks.
PT6A/JT15D/PW300/PW500/TFE731 Related Airframe Experience a plus (Engine Removal & Installation, Rigging)
Ability to communicate well with customers for field service activities
Provide technical/engineering support and advice to customers during field service visits and in response to incoming queries
Ensure all customer queries are dealt with professionally and take appropriate preventative action
Coordinate the field trips with tooling and material and provide accurate expenses for all estimate and invoices that are compiled
Produce work instructions from the with the customer PO, OEM Specifications and customer requirements
Review and update all documents related to the work being performed.
Raise Work Orders and preparation of customer estimates.
Receive incoming engines.
Disassemble engines, modules or components as required.
Detail inspection of all engine parts as required.
Balance rotating components as required
Assemble main engine, modules and all sub-assemblies.
Flow test of individual components and assemblies.
Where applicable, set up engine, test and ensure all agreed checks are actioned
Be an Approved Release Signatory representing the company
Prepare engine for dispatch.
Travel will be required to perform field service work (No restrictions internationally / Passport required).
Expense claims managed and submitted on time in line with the company policy
Provide technical training when required
Basic Job-Related Skills:
Ability to use basic hand tools.
Ability to use and care for precision measuring and torquing devices.
Familiarity with quality procedures and documentation including process documentation, parts routing procedures, engineering repair instructions, detailed work instructions and non-conformance report system.
Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Canada publications and work instructions including overhaul and maintenance manuals, parts catalogues and service bulletins.
Organisational Relationships:
Field Service Manager.
Internal relationships within the production, engineering, customer support and logistic support staff.

Education and Training:
The role holder will have worked for a few years as a technician
Airframe related tasks to include Engine Removal and Installation
Line and Base Maintenance OEM qualification
