Instructional Systems Designers
Salary negotiable, to be discussed upon application
MPI have a requirement for 2 Instructional Systems Designers to be based in Yeovil.
Contract ongoing as per Customer requirements with an immediate start. SC Clearance is preferable but applicants can start on BPSS if selected.
Approx 37.5 hours per week.
Rate of pay is negotiable at time of application, subject to experience.
Reporting to the Training Project Lead, the Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) is responsible for:
1. Designing, developing, managing, conducting and evaluating custom technical training materials, assessments and programmes.
2. Assisting with cost-benefit analyses and preparing and presenting reports regarding the development implementation and evaluation of training programmes and curricula.
3. Providing complete training instruction and guidance in the performance of instructional system design tasks.
4. Assisting in the evaluation of new instructional strategies, methods, technologies and tools related to instructional systems design, development and delivery for internal and external customers.
Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles and concepts.
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems referring to established precedents and policies.
Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignment, and plans, schedules and arranges own activities to accomplish those objectives.
Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organisation. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives typically have a serious effect upon the administration of the organisation.
Represents the organisation as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organisations.
Education and Experience:-
Minimum 5 years’ experience of instructional systems design of instructor-led training and distance learning, preferably within the aerospace industry. General knowledge of and some experience in the application of the Ministry of Defence Joint Service Publication 822, Defence Direction and Guidance for Training and Education. Preferably familiar with rotary and/or fixed wing aircrew, groundcrew, mechanical and avionics systems.
