​MPI are seeking on behalf of our client a Radio Frequency Engineer

To be based in Portdon Down, Salisbury, Wiltshire

This is a proposed 18 month contract until 31st July 2022

IR35: In Scope

Rate of pay - £540.00 per day Umbrella which equates to £72.97 per hour over 7.4hrs x 5 days

Some work can be carried out at home base, which would be confirmed by the Hiring Manager at interview stage.

Current Security Clearance required: DV – Sole British national only

DV clearance, formally known as Developed Vetting, is the highest classification of security clearance that you can gain in the UK. It allows you to have necessary and long-term access to extremely sensitive government information, softwares, systems and personnel. Please confirm if you hold this clearance level

Job Description:

This role will involve working with industry and MOD to support the delivery of a system (hardware) to be installed on military platforms based on a set of high level requirements. The hardware will include computing elements, radios, RF elements and antennas. The role will require a confident individual who is able to work with a range of internal and external parties to manage the delivery of the hardware. The individual must be able to take responsibility and lead own work as per direction informed by the project.

Requirements:

Experience in:

  • RF engineering;

  • Hardware design, build and integration onto military sites and platforms;

  • Hardware assurance and testing;

  • Appreciation of C2 integration;

  • Through life product lifecycles.

  • Requirements capture

Essential:

  • DV essential - British sole national

  • The roles will require travel within the UK

  • Experience managing contracts

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with DE&S, and knowledge of their processes (ideally accreditation)

  • Knowledge of EMC

  • Mechanical engineering awareness
