MPI have a requirement for an Import/Export Administrator to work on a fixed term contract for a minimum of 6 months in the Gosport, Hampshire area.

 

Previous experience is required in Importing and Exporting so please only apply if you have this.

 

Rate of pay to be discussed on application.

 

The purpose of this role is to provide import and export support to the business, for all material that needs to travel internationally – both into and out of the UK as well as material being moved to support VAIL requirements outside of the UK.

 

Skills/Experience required:-

 

Applicants must have import/experience knowledge and understanding (but not limited to) understanding various Customers Regimes (IPR/OPR, Home Use, End Use)

HMRC Procedures and Authorisation knowledge as well as an understanding of Customers Warehousing is required.

You will also need an understanding and knowledge of INCO Terms as well as experience in dealing with Global Freight.

 

Our Client is looking for applicants who are organised and methodical and able to work without direct supervision. Be able to produce documents to a suitable standard for dissemination to external audiences including Foreign Parties and HMRC. You need to be able to adapt and manage shifting priorities, depending on requirements of the Business and also have the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of formats.

You will require Good IT Skills including wide experience of word documents, Excel Spreadsheets and use of Outlook.

 

If applicants have military export license knowledge and understanding this would be very beneficial but is not essential.

Also, if you have an understanding and awareness of Procurement practices again this is desirable but not essential.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Creation of Commercial Invoices and other Documentation required for export of goods from the UK

Customs Declarations – for goods being received into or leaving the UK

Archiving and data retention of all documentation relating to imports and exports

Arranging collection, transportation and deliveries to or from our Clients /VAIL locations, or other locations as necessary

Supporting audits, especially with regard to HMRC – but also ISO/AS requirements, Internal audits or Customer Audits

Adherence to Customs requirements, and ensuring that all materiel movements are assigned to correct Customs Regime relating to Duty and VAT charges or deferments.
