Structural Civils Surveyor
Location: Swanley, Kent
Salary/Rate: To be discussed upon application
We are looking for a Civils Structural Surveyor for a role with a busy rail engineering company. Contract due to start in September and last until December. 2020.
• IT literate, MS project desirable
• PTS
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in structure inspection and producing inspection/examination reports
• Be able to provide evidence of competence by either a STE 3 or STE 4 – Network Rail Competency certification OR
• Evidence of carrying out a minimum of 2 visual inspection (examination) to determine the condition of minor/major rail structure in the last 12 months
• Evidence of inspection of minor structures such as Posts, gantries, towers , supporting equipment and bracketry is desirable
• Ability to undertake structural inspections to Network Rail Examination standards and in accordance with pre-prepared inspection proformas
• Ability to visually identify signs of loose, displaced or fallen material including vandalism or accidental damage, ground movement, signs of misuse or significant changes in the nature of the asset
• Ability to determine condition of masonry, metal, concrete and timber with defined guidelines
• Ability to work at height and promote safe working practices
