​MPI traces its roots back to 1962 when it pioneered the concept of the flexible mobile workforce. At the time the company was known as Welltrade and we worked in the telecoms, electrical engineering and manufacture, factory shutdowns, broadcasting, automotive and aviation maintenance industries.

​Having operated from bases in and around North London, MPI made its move to a new head-office in Hertford in June 1975. That remained our head office until 2016 when we moved to our current larger site.

​In 1980 the decision was made to change the company name to Mobile Personnel International.

​Offices in Hemel Hempstead and Tooting, South London were amalgamated with Hertford in September 1981.

​In August 1986 the decision was made to open a new office in Milton Keynes to service the growing need in the South Midlands for an engineering labour provider with extensive knowledge of the Electronics markets. We also started a division called MPI Electronics were we sub-contracted the manufacture of PCB's and small electronic devices. This division ran for five years.

​In 1988, the Telford office was opened.

​MPI expanded into the rail industry.

​The company had a name change and was also divided into MPI Ltd looking after Electronics, Broadcasting, Telecoms and the newly founded rail department and MPI Aviation Ltd looking after our hugely successful aviation department.

​In 1998 the idea of supplying work under 'Fixed Price Work' packages was turned into a commercial reality for our aviation department.

​In 2003, MPI set up its highly successful MPI 24/7 Fuel Tank repair teams.

​In 2005, due to new regulations within the aviation industry MPI created a training department to ensure all of our contractors would meet the new required certifications. Over time this department has grown to accommodate other industries courses and is hugely popular with our clients and contractors.

​In 2010, our rail department also moved into providing fixed price work packages.

​MPI started our apprenticeship scheme to give back to the industries we work with.

​MPI Aviation and MPI Ltd became one company again known as MPI Ltd.

​In 2018 MPI was re-structured with a new management director team consisting of Simon Henser as managing director, Sarah Grant as finance director and Gemma Newby as Operations director.

​MPI are always our first port of call when we need permanent employees or contractors and are always quick to respond.
