Aircraft Mechanic

MPI have a requirement for Skilled and Experienced Aircraft Mechanic's to work days or nights  (2 separate roles) on site at Luton Airport.

 

Hours  Monday – Friday - days

            07:00 - 17:00

            Hours  Monday – Friday - nights

            21:15 - 07:00

 

47.5 hours per week (1/2 hr unpaid lunch)

 

Starting 21st September 2026 for the winter programme

 

Duration:         Until May/June 2027

 

These roles are deemed in scope of IR35 – rates of pay will be discussed on application

No personal tooling is required as this is controlled by the company on-site.

 

Duties:

- Performing heavy base maintenance/'C' checks on aircraft

 

Experience required:

Ideal candidate will have many years’ experience on Boeing Fleet along with the following:

  • Experience in carrying out major Hangar Work
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Good Hand Skills
  • C Checks
  • Landing Gear removal and refit
  • Changing Brakes
  • Fault Finding & Rectification work on systems hydraulics and pneumatics/air con
  • APU

 

Because this role is based airside, if selected, the candidate would have to undergo a Full Airside Pass. This entails having to reference the individual for the last 5 years of employment/education. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) would also have to be obtained from any country resided/worked in for 6 months or more within the last 5 years.

 

If selected, we will require you to have the following up to date certificates or be prepared to get up to date certificates of the following at your own cost. If booked through MPI there is a discount of 10% of advertised retail cost.

  • Safety Training (including Human Factors
  • EWIS 1 & 2
  • SFAR 88 1 & 2
  • Diisocyanates Training
