We’re looking for a confident, highly organised Product Development Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams through the full project lifecycle, from planning and coordination through to successful delivery. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving new technology forward, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
The role
You’ll be responsible for managing multiple R&D projects simultaneously, working closely with key stakeholders across technical, product, programme, and quality functions. This is a role for someone who can balance structure with pace, manage complexity with confidence, and turn strategy into successful delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage product development projects with full accountability for outcomes
- Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Drive delivery against cost, quality, schedule, and stakeholder expectations
- Manage risks, issues, opportunities, and change effectively
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to align project goals with business and R&D strategy
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety, security, and quality requirements
- Capture customer feedback and embed continuous improvement throughout delivery
- Maintain robust project documentation and governance
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager
- Proven track record delivering multiple projects valued at over £1M annually
- Experience managing several projects at the same time
- Background in complex, safety-critical development projects
- Professional accreditation
- Strong working knowledge of MS Project
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in both Classical and Agile environments desirable
- Experience from Aerospace or Transport sectors desirable
- Hardware or electro-mechanical background desirable
