Rail Telecoms Site Manager – York

The Opportunity
MPI are currently looking for an experienced Rail Telecoms Site Manager to join a major rail telecommunications project based in York.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced rail professional with a strong telecoms background who is looking to take responsibility for the successful delivery of site activities, managing teams, subcontractors and project requirements in a safety-critical rail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise Rail Telecoms installation activities on site.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and specialist telecoms engineers.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
- Manage daily site activities, programmes and resources.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, engineers and client representatives.
- Monitor progress against programme and provide regular updates.
- Ensure all site documentation, permits, inspections and records are completed correctly.
- Identify and resolve site issues, delays and technical challenges.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, health & safety and compliance.
- Ensure all personnel are appropriately trained, competent and authorised for the work being undertaken.
- Support planning and coordination of possessions, access and disruptive works where required.
Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager / Site Supervisor within Rail Telecoms.
- Strong knowledge of railway telecommunications systems and installation practices.
- Experience managing telecoms engineers and subcontractors.
- Experience working within a rail, infrastructure or other safety-critical environment.
- Good understanding of Network Rail standards, processes and site requirements.
- Valid PTS.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities in a busy site environment.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
Experience across areas such as fibre optics, SISS, CCTV, PA/PAVA, radio, GSM-R or associated rail telecoms systems would be highly advantageous.
