Aircraft Technical Instructors – Future Opportunities

MPI is building a talent pool of experienced Aircraft Engineering professionals interested in future opportunities as Technical Instructors.

We are currently engaging with engineers across Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical and Weapons Engineering disciplines who may be interested in instructional roles supporting RAF and international defence training programmes.

While there are no immediate vacancies currently live, future requirements are anticipated very soon.

Future instructor roles support both classroom-based theory and practical hands-on training, helping to develop the next generation of military aircraft engineers.

🎓 Who We’re Looking For

We are keen to connect with experienced professionals from:

Aircraft Mechanical Engineering

  • Airframe, propulsion or mechanical maintenance background
  • Military or civilian aviation experience

Aircraft Avionics / Electrical Engineering

  • Avionics systems, diagnostics and electrical maintenance experience
  • Military or civil aircraft engineering background

Typical Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong background in aircraft maintenance (military or civilian aviation)
  • ONC, BTEC, SCOTVEC or equivalent engineering qualification (or military equivalent) within a training capacity
  • Practical hands-on experience within aircraft engineering environments
  • Strong communication and mentoring ability

🧠 Typical Responsibilities (Future Roles)

Where opportunities arise, Technical Instructors may:

  • Deliver classroom and practical aircraft engineering instruction
  • Prepare lesson plans and training materials
  • Supervise learners in line with Health & Safety and COSHH requirements
  • Monitor and assess trainee progress
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of training delivery and materials
  • Support adoption of modern training methods and technologies

Additional Information
