Survival Equipment Assembly Operative

MPI are looking for an experienced Aircrew Survival Equipment (AEA) professional to join a key aviation support programme based at RAF Valley on a shifts.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting UKMFTS flying training, ensuring aircrew are fully equipped, safe, and mission ready.

We’re also open to supervisory-level candidates, with leadership experience desirable but not essential depending on military rank or equivalent civilian background.

The Role

As an AEA Supervisor, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day management, maintenance, and issue of Aircrew Equipment Assemblies, ensuring everything is serviceable, compliant, and ready for use.

You’ll work closely across multiple sites including RAF Cranwell and RAF Barkston Heath, supporting a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Issuing correctly fitted, serviceable AEA/SE to aircrew and students
  • Maintaining accurate records and MOD documentation
  • Managing maintenance schedules and equipment availability
  • Supporting fault finding, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Ensuring compliance with QA, COSHH, and safety regulations
  • Reporting defects and maintaining publication updates

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience in AEA/SE maintenance
  • Knowledge of MOD maintenance processes and forms
  • Ability to fault find and work with technical equipment databases
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • A proactive, safety-first approach and team mindset

Essential qualifications include recognised RAF Survival Equipment training (or equivalent), Q-SE-AC or GAEA, and Human Factors training.
