Are you an experienced Controls Engineer looking to lead technically challenging projects from concept through to commissioning?
MPI is recruiting a Senior Controls Engineer to join an innovative engineering team delivering control system retrofit and upgrade projects for gas turbine applications. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of complex projects while helping shape the future of the company's controls capability.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the design, development and delivery of PLC-based control systems
- Producing hardware, software and functional design specifications
- Programming, testing and commissioning control systems
- Supporting Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
- Providing technical leadership across engineering, projects and field service teams
- Working closely with customers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
- Supporting product development and driving continuous improvement within the Controls team
What we're looking for
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5 years' experience designing and programming PLC-based control systems
- Experience working with gas turbine control and fuel systems
- Strong commissioning and site installation experience
- Excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills
- A collaborative approach with the ability to lead technical projects
Experience with fluid systems, pressure reduction, variable speed drives, Siemens legacy engines, GEC Jet Turbines, Rushton engines, fuel skids or balance/surge control systems would be highly advantageous.
