MPI have a requirement for a Gas Turbine Technical Support Engineer to work in Gosport, Hampshire. PO13 0AA.
This is a permanent role and the rate of pay is dependant on qualifications and experience, so will discuss on application

Purpose and Scope
To provide engineering support to the designated area of responsibility to ensure continued efficient operation of the workshop processes. To meet a high standard of engineering support to customers.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed work instructions for repair of gas turbine engines, components or accessories to ensure compliance with approved maintenance data and customer requirements;
Maintain work packages within the organisation’s MRO ERP system;
To effectively resolve technical problems beyond the scope of the product unit operations group and liaise with manufacturers where appropriate;
Support the Performance Engineer in engine and accessory test performance analysis and troubleshooting;
Provides interpretation and clarification of overhaul data; produces material review board, temporary overhaul data requirement, unit build standards, and engineering bill of materials documentation to support operational repair and overhaul processes;
Review airworthiness directives, service bulletins and manual changes to incorporate amendments into production;
Review warranty claims and advise management on the disposition of assigned items;
Provide written or verbal technical advice for customers; produce reports relating to product serviceability, repair summaries, warranty, and failure analysis or product configuration;
Provide technical support during the implementation of new processes; specify tools and test equipment required and assist in training on the overhaul and test methods;
Advise on repair and improvement schemes together with feasibility studies;
Maintain technical concurrence of maintenance documentation and records;
Support the implementation of authorised repair or improvement schemes;
Maintain the parts master data in conjunction with Illustrated Parts Catalogue within the organisation’s MRO ERP system;
Support logistics in maintaining configuration management whilst components are being repaired or exchanged;
Carries out special projects as assigned;
Carries out other duties as assigned;
To ensure that all non-conforming products and processes are identified and that corrective action is taken in line with Quality standards and timetables;
To identify and/or contribute to all appropriate continuous improvement opportunities;
Ensuring that continuation training is up to date and that packs are read and signed for;
Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals

Issue of work instructions restricted to product type expertise.
Part Master of items within MRO ERP system.
Organisational Relationships
Reports to the Engineering Manager, whilst delivering a high level of engineering support service to the Engines Business Unit operations team and their respective Engine Platform Programme Managers.
Interact as a technical liaison with the Customer Service Manager;
Work with Customer Service team, Planning and Procurement to manage inputs and deliveries within time-scale and to standard;
Works with relevant support area Managers to help control repair loop and spares.
Job Requirements (e = essential / d = desirable)
Education and Training
Degree or similar level of education in an aerospace or gas turbine discipline; (e)
Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment with gas turbine experience; (e)
Awareness and implication of the regulations and regulatory requirements of the aerospace industry; (e)
Strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making, oral and written communication skills; (d)
Ability to provide advice as a subject matter expert and provide technical report writing. (d)
Experience of Pratt & Whitney Canada aircraft engines (e.g. PW300) (e)
Technical Requirements
Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings, manuals and technical instructions (e)
Working knowledge of applicable regulations, such as EASA Part-145 (d)
Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments (e)
Working knowledge of gas turbine engine theory, maintenance and performance analysis (e)
Knowledge of engine and component build standards, temporary overhaul data revision and original equipment manufacturing manuals (d)
Working knowledge of NAVIXA MRO ERP system (d)
Proficient user of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel. (e)
