MPI is looking for Semi-Skilled Mechanical fitter to work on a long term contract, for our client based in Bedford

 

The pay rate is £13 per hour

Monday to Friday, flexible hours, total of 39hours per week

Mon-Thurs starting between 7 & 8 (8 hours shift), half hour lunch

Fri 7:00-2.30 or 8:00-3.30 (7 hours shift), half hour lunch

  

Purpose

 

The Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter will support the business in achieving Production Schedule targets in a hands-on role for both Titan and Conslitter systems.

 

Progression pathway

Semi-Skilled Fitter > Fitter > Lead Fitter > Production Supervisor > Production Manager

 

 Duties

 

Assembling of system frames and sub-assemblies in preparation for painting.

Provide absence cover for the spray painter.

Packing of systems in preparation for shipping.

Assemble and fit mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components under direction as per Bills of Material, Drawings and Specifications of Company Products.

To operate safely, the use of various hand tools and power tools as required and directed

Control through best practices, the quality of machines on build

Immediate communication of issues, delays and shortages to Production Supervisors.

Contribute to ways that the department’s quality and efficiency can be improved and take part in improvement projects.

Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment in accordance with 5S principles.

Be fully conversant and compliant with Company policies, procedures, and specifications (including Technical, HR, Quality and Health & Safety policies) in order to maintain a safe and controlled environment.

To report any non-conformance through the defined procedure and assist the company in meeting its Quality and HS&E objectives.

To be flexible to change key responsibilities as and when required to suit business requirements.

Ensure that all assembly documentation is filled out as required, to include timesheets, build inspection documentation etc.

Qualifications

Educated to Level 2 NVQ (or qualified by experience).

 

On the job training will be provided as part of the job requirement.
