MPI have a requirement for a Permanent Technical Sales Representative to be based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. PE27 3WJ

The rate of pay is £35K per annum.

Approx. 37 hours per week Monday - Friday

Our Client are market leaders in orbital welding, specialist welding and assembly of gas and liquid handling systems using stainless steel and high nickel alloys for both in-house and on-site installations, to a variety of clients within the semiconductor, pharmaceutical and scientific industries.

They are looking for a technically minded representative to cover the Northern region of the UK. Ideally from a pharmaceutical processing or semiconductor facilities/services background, or similar process industry.

This is a mid-level sales role taking responsibility for existing clients and also developing new contacts and customers within the designated territory, developing new accounts and expanding the exposure of our Client.



Responsible for sales activities within the Northern region of the UK

Manage the existing customer base, as well as developing new opportunities

‘cold calling’ and following up on leads generated by the sales and marketing team

It’s expected that c.25% of time out visiting customers in the designated territory

Formally presenting to small groups of engineers, introducing the company and services

Attend trade shows and conferences in the UK when required (including those outside territory)

Managing and maintaining customer contacts, opportunities and forecasts through CRM

Engaging with other internal departments within Orbital Fabrications to generate customer proposals Reporting back on market and competitor activities within the designated territory



 · Ideally in the pharma processing industry, semiconductor facilities or similar background

·                     Previous sales experience, or strong engineering background looking to move into sales

·                     Technically minded, with a mechanical engineering background

·                     Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

·                  Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·                     Confident in picking up the phone and cold calling a new prospective contact

·                     Driving License (Clean)

·                     Company car or car allowance

·                     Company share bonus, dependent on company and personal performance
