An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician to join one of our clients biggest and most profitable retailers in the North of England in Newcastle. 

The role - Working on the electrical and mechanical systems for a range of BMW & MINI models, every day will be different. You’ll inspect components for wear and tear, carry out technical maintenance, repair or replace parts, as well as verifying vehicle functions and their subsystems and ensure all work is completed safely, to the highest standards and to customers’ satisfaction. 

Your profile - Your technical or vocational training in an automotive retailer or similar environment will be backed by experience working with prestige vehicles. you will be expected to be a team player who can mentor and work with new colleagues and apprentices. A full driving licence is essential.

Detailed Responsibilities

To carry out Services, Pre Delivery Inspections & MOT tests 

• Carrying out those activities as are specified on the relevant schedule
• Ensuring all the scheduled activities are carried out, designating this on the applicable documentation &/or system including recording the time taken & parts & consumables used
• Reporting faults/problems found outside the scheduled activity & seeking authorisation to proceed with rectification work if appropriate

To Diagnose, report & rectify vehicle faults & problems,

• Carrying out such activities utilising department diagnostic & analytical equipment & methodologies with recourse to Franchise supplied equipment & systems if appropriate
• Seeking advice from Service Management & from Franchise technical support if unable to diagnose fault
• Reporting cause & effect of problem & ascertaining estimated cost to repair seeking authorisation to proceed & ordering
