Job description
MPI have a requirement for Aircraft Fitters to work on site in at Stansted Airport.
Our client requires 4 Aircraft Fitters per day from the 12th January 2026 through to the 18th December 2026 (as with all contracts, this may be subject to change)
In addition, they require a further 4 Aircraft Fitters to work opposite shifts to cover the whole roster.
The Working hours are 07.00 - 19.00
Working the following shift pattern
5 on 5 off
4 on 5 off
5 on 4 off
Then this cycle repeats itself from top.
5 on 5 off
4 on 5 off
5 on 4 off
Rate of pay is £29.00 per hour limited.
Our client has advised that as well as the shifts above, there are extra hours available each week (Overtime is not guaranteed).
This contract is deemed outside of IR35
You will require your own tools as well as current Human Factors, EWIS and Fuel Tank Safety certificates.
Our client is a UK CAA and EASA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on our parent company fleet of CL-600, EMB 135 and ERJ 190 aircraft.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with experience working in a Base Maintenance environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, repairs and functional tests on aircraft.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, task cards, engineering drawings and other specific technical documentation.
• Complete all assigned work in a timely manner to optimise aircraft downtime..
• Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.
• Adopt and promote the company Safety, Quality and FOD culture.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures.
• Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and lean principles.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Have completed a recognised apprenticeship, formal training program or able to demonstrate comparable qualifications and experience.
• Have experience working in a Base Maintenance environment.
• Ideally to have previous experience/technical knowledge of Business Jets such as Bombardier, Embraer or similar type aircraft, however client will consider applicants who may not have this.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety, Human Factors and Regulatory requirements.
• Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of external customers.
Additional Requirements
• Candidates must have legal authorisation and the right to work in the UK.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Ability to obtain security clearance and hold an airside ID pass.
