​MPI are looking for a Permanent CNC Machinist for our client based in Cranfield in Bedfordshire.

Job Purpose
To provide technical and manufacturing support in the Mechanical Workshop and Laboratories which includes the manufacture and construction of components and equipment for research, teaching, student projects and external customers from drawings, sketches and precise verbal instructions.

Essential Requirements
Candidates must have City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering Craft level 3/ONC or Equivalent .
The ideal candidate needs to have worked within a workshop/machine shop using a range of machines including manual and CNC, whilst working from detailed drawings.
Good knowledge of Advanced machining practices
Capable of working to precise limits in a range of skills including Turning, Milling, Grinding and general Fitting
Ability to work from detail drawings, sketches and verbal instructions

Desirable Skills
Significant manufacturing experience outside of an apprenticeship, Lab experience - setting up experiments, taking readings and adjusting/fixings equipment 

In use of Fanuc, Heidenhiem, Haas and XYZ controllers CAD/CAM packages.

CNC experience using Hass, XYZ and Colchester machines

Salary
£30K - £32K Dependant on Experience
