MPI have a requirement for a Mechanical Work Controller to work on site at Swindon, SN6 8LA
This is a permanent position
Full time, Monday – Friday

Our client is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and the majority of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants. Our client supports the DA as the MOD's primary link with UK universities and international military educational institutions. Working within the clients Estates Team, the Work Controller will be responsible for managing sub-contractor activities, PPM, reactive and minor new work.
Main Accountabilities:
Identify and measure performance output criteria for all relevant aspects of service delivery involving the control of contractors to develop and implement meaningful KPIs
Job planning to ensure maximum efficiency
Effectively oversee the coordination and programming of planned and reactive maintenance
Raising POs on SAP for supply chain partners
Provide detailed reports periodically to summarise key progress and activity to our client and their customers
Ensure CAFM system is kept up to date with accurate completion and start times
Ensure all confidential information remains within the company and is not relayed in either verbal or written form to persons or organisations outside the company.
What you’ll need to do the role:
Significant demonstrable experience in a similar role
A relevant formal qualification in a mechanical discipline or trade background
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification
Detailed understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and standards in relation to M&E or build
Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical, financial and numerate approach to problems
Demonstrate clear decision making in a timely manner based on facts and sound rationale
Highly literate and experienced with IT, demonstrating ability in MS Office - including Email, Outlook, Word and Excel
MoD Security Clearance - Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of our clients are required to be security cleared to SC level. If successful in your application, we would support you with the SC process. As a guideline only, you would normally need to have been a UK resident for the last 5 consecutive years.
