We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to join our growing Systems Engineering team. This position will suit a committed and ambitious engineer who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team.

**THIS IS A REMOTE WORKING ROLE,  CONTRACT OR PERMANENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE**

Main Duties                                                                   

Principal Systems Engineer will be accountable for the delivering high quality Systems Engineering services to our clients, including:

Developing appropriate Systems Engineering processes for projects.

Leadership of a team of the Systems Engineers which will include:

  • Requirements Engineering (RE).

  • Integrated Systems Design (SD).

  • Systems Analysis e.g. Functional, Physical, Performance.

  • Systems Modelling.

  • Systems Integration (SI).

  • Product Integration.

  • Design to Cost / Value Engineering (DtC).

  • Configuration and Change Control Management (CM & CC).

  • Verification and Validation (V&V).

  • Specialist Systems Engineering discipline activities (e.g. Safety, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, EMC, Human Factors, etc.)

  • Delivery of Systems Engineering Deliverables within time and budget.

  • Maintaining competence framework For Systems Engineering Resources

  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company

  • Working collaboratively with Project teams and stakeholders

The post holder is responsible for:

  • Their own safety and the safety of all employees and contractors;

  • Being a role model for safety through strict compliance with safety requirements

  • Ensuring the application of the safety policy in production

  • Ensuring that the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are implemented in production

  • Ensuring the application of appropriate safety controls and technical assurance in production

  • Monitoring safety certification according to UK regulations,

  • Ensure appropriate technical resources are allocated to the project

  • Implementing training plans and general awareness of staff in safety

  • Performing hierarchical safety checks and also ensuring that each line manager does the same

  • Support the technical director to ensure overseas production centres are briefed on all relevant standards, guidelines and procedures

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge of the DOORSTM Requirements Management system

  • Flexibility in working hours will be required to meet the demands of the role

  • Ability to travel to client sites and other c offices will be required

  • Ability to work from home
