Job description
Exciting new maternity contract for a Senior Material supplier to work for an award winning Airline based at Luton Airport. Working within the supply chain, knowledge of buying, purchasing within aviation would be advantageous.
Senior Material Supplier (Buyer)
Location: Luton Airport
Start: ASAP
Duration: approx. 9 months (possibility of extension)
Maternity contract
Hours: 37.5 hours p/week
Pay: In-scope of IR35.
£21.61 p/hr Umbrella / £16.57 p/hr PAYE
Job Role responsibility:
Provide full material support to production areas including Maintrol, Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Workshops and with External Suppliers.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As a Senior Material Supplier, you will be responsible for the operational support and procurement of aircraft spare parts. This will include tracing and tracking of on-going shipments worldwide and expediting the delivery of parts into the shops or to other stations. Other duties will include the coordination of case-to-case logistical activities worldwide, monitoring task progress and taking the necessary action to deliver in agreed timescales/budgets, completing all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. You may be required to maintain a shift handover log for your designated area at the end of each day and liaise with other departments as necessary (e.g. outside agencies, airport authorities, Maintrol etc.). You will be willing to travel to support the operational support of the engineering organisation and may act up to Duty Material Supplier as requested within agreed levels of authority. The role holder may be required to work rosters which may include unsocial hours.
Wide ranging functions include facilitation of the performance management of strategic suppliers ensuring service level agreements (SLA’s) are met, forward provisioning of materials to meet business needs, ensure ‘loans-in’ are effectively managed and also the exposure to surplus/waste is minimised. Functions include liaising with the engineering community to develop provisioning models, supporting and participating in tendering/contract development, ensuring maximum value for money in any buying decisions is achieved, delivering appropriate/timely management reporting across all areas of responsibility and progressing/expediting outstanding orders for the timely delivery of material.
Candidate Requirements:
Aviation background with supply chain experience, component repair experience.
Strong IT skills and knowledge of engineering systems.
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
