The Sales is responsible for the effective day to day running and operation of the Sales Function.

This includes but is not limited to:

agreeing company sales strategy with the senior management team and Managing Director.

Arranging and attending sales meetings with customers.

Accompanying all company representatives on customer visits as and when required.

Liaising with Project Management during hand over of projects once a sales order has been received.

The role is also responsible for identifying opportunities for new work with new and existing customers and researching the markets for the UK Rail, Bus and heavy EV charging Infrastructure.


Market analysis of customer base and product placement.

Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services of the clients to customers and prospective customers.

Confer with customers and engineers to assess their solution and needs and to determine system requirements.

Collaborate with the customer and fully understand and document comprehensively the requirements and provide the sales support to the Schaltbau Transportation UK team to develop estimates and proposals.

Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery.

Write and present quotations and proposals.

Help clients solve problems with current solutions and deliver the clients USP.

Recommend improved systems and solutions to customers, showing how the clients products and services will deliver and customer expectations.

Analyse and develop market opportunities for client for existing products including:

Current TR&S products such as:

Door Maintenance, spares, upgrade and Overhaul

HVAC Maintenance, spares, upgrade and Overhaul

PRM Toilets Maintenance, spares, upgrade and Overhaul

Electronic test and diagnostics and support for Auxiliary Power systems, spares, upgrade and Overhaul Eg. Static Converters

Interior Systems – Eg. door panels & baby change tables, glass, luggage racks

Specialist service support across these products

A self-motivated person (sales and marketing experience would be nice).

An effective communicator.

Able to work on their own initiative.

A team player.

Willingness to travel is a must, both Nationally and Internationally.

Capability in social media.

Microsoft package capability.

Analytical skills required.

Experience in developing estimates and pricing schedules would be nice.

Knowledge and experience of working in the UK and Ireland Traction and Rolling stock market would be a plus.

Spoken German would be an advantage.

Technical and engineering experience preferred.
