​SENIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER

Required to expand a technical team to construct and operate a 1.5MWth pilot plant reactor for the production of hydrogen.

FIXED TERM CONTRACT October 2020 until 31.03.2021

37 hour per week Mon – Fri

Based Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire border

Essential - HND or degree qualification in a relevant scientific discipline or recognised and substantial technical expertise in relevant area acquired over a significant number of years.

Desirable - Member of a professional body eg EngTech, IET, IChemE, IMechE,

Registered Technician

Essential Experience - Significant practical experience in pipework construction, assembly and operation of high temperature, high pressure, flammable and asphyxiating gases and liquids

Ability to provide “hands on” build assistance

Excellent health & safety experience in DSEAR / ATEX environments

Experience in instrumentation installation and calibration of flow sensors, pressure transducers, level switches, gas analysers, thermocouples, pressure gauges etc.

Ability to interpret process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams

Co-ordination of team resources and management of sub contractor’s

Experience working with mechanical and/or electrical equipment

Interactive scheduling of machine/rig time optimising utilisation potential.

Proven work experience in a relevant technical or engineering role.

Desirable Experience in a technical/scientific role with supervisory responsibility

Experience working on steam methane reforming processes or other hydrogen producing technologies

Experience of working in a range of facilities from full scale commercial rigs to university research facilities

Experience of working with Industrial partners occasionally client facing

Preparing and editing technical documents

Practical experience in the operation and management of small process plant type operations

Health & safety qualifications, notably for hazardous area operations
