Defined responsibilities and requirements for level crossing competent signalling design engineers. This is required tosupport the development of logic-based level crossings, including MCB, MCB-CCTV, MCB-OD2, AHB, MSL, AOCL.

Outline Responsibilities

  • Support the Alstom Engineering Manager to deliver a programme of works to defined budget and timescales.

  • Production/verification of level crossing compliance reports and gap analysis.

  • Production/verification of interface descriptions based on the level crossing sub-system architecture.

  • Participate in HAZID meetings and identify relevant level crossing system and operational hazards.

  • Support interfacing sub-system designers with level crossing input/output requirements.

  • Production/verification of level crossing wiring and level crossing PLC application logic equations for MCB, MCB-CCTV, MCB-OD2, AHB, MSL, and AOCL type crossings.

  • Support RAM engineers with system reliability, availability, and maintenance analysis specific to the level crossing sub-system.

  • Input in to design and engineering logs, risk register, non-compliance register, Hazard log, and design assumptions.

  • Support evidence gathering to satisfy level crossing sub-system requirements.

  • Support safety assurance engineers with any acceptance and approvals, safety case evidence, and hazard close out specific to the level crossing sub-system.

  • Support testing activities by providing design guidance.
