MPI are currently recruiting for a full time Trainee Technician to join a Cargo Bay team for our client based in Wendens Ambo, near Saffron Walden. The role holder will report to the Mechanical/Cargo bay/Seat Bay Team Leader and the primary purpose of the job will be the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, part replacement and re-assembly of aircraft cargo components such as Cargo nets and Restraints along with various other components in order to reduce costs and add value to our customers.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training to be carried out in the following;

· Inspection and diagnosis of Cargo components, repairs, and parts replacement requirements.

· Disassembly and cleaning of components.

· Repair and parts replacement of components.

· Reassembly of aircraft components to required standards and timeframe.

· Work in accordance with technical publications

· Correlate all work carried out in accordance with part 145 requirements.

· Adheres to all Company standard operating procedures

· Adheres to all health and safety procedures

· Meets workshop quality and housekeeping standards

· Ensures all activity and works delivered meets the Company quality standards

· Ensures all administration and systems inputs meets agreed standards

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Ideally, the successful candidate will be willing to learn, will become familiar with using a variety of different sewing machines, manual and CAD types. Gain experience in trimming and upholstery in aviation manufacturing. You will gain an understanding of technical publications and knowledge of Commercial Aerospace working practices. Qualification such as GCSEs in maths, Science and English are essential. IT literate with the ability to use Word, Excel and a willingness to learn an industry software package (Aerotrac). The individual will be a team player, willing to learn, disciplined, with an eye for detail and a self-starter.
