We are currently seeking a temporary Storesperson to join our client's team based in Cork for an initial period of 2 weeks, with the potential for extension.
This role requires a reliable and organised individual with experience in stores, stock control, and materials handling. Candidates must hold a valid, in-date FLT licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out stock control using the stock management system
- Receive, dispatch, inspect, and issue materials
- Maintain stores security at all times
- Monitor the status of depot fire equipment
- Assist technical staff in identifying materials and raising order requests
- Receive local SAP orders on behalf of depot personnel and distribute as required
- Assemble and pack materials/goods in line with logistical demands and dispatch schedules
- Load and unload trucks carefully, ensuring goods are handled safely and in line with manual handling guidelines
- Complete daily and weekly checks of technical devices and systems used in materials handling to maintain safety and equipment longevity
- Carry out regular checks of storage facilities, including visual inspections and checks on environmental conditions, weight, size, and type of goods, and take corrective action where necessary
- Ensure materials are picked in line with maintenance requirements and delivered to the correct receiving units in a timely manner, in accordance with legislation and procedures
- Arrange transportation of materials through authorised external agencies to move goods to other depots or suppliers
Requirements
- Valid, in-date FLT licence
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or materials handling role
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work safely and follow procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
