Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a long-term contract with varied, hands-on work across the UK?

MPI is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter to join an established manufacturer of water processing equipment based in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a skilled engineering team installing specialist water treatment and processing equipment at customer sites nationwide.

What's on Offer?

  • £19.00 per hour
  • Long-term contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, typically 7:00am – 3:30pm (hours may vary when working on customer sites)
  • Opportunity to work on a variety of projects across the UK

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll work both in the workshop and on customer sites, assisting with the installation of water treatment and processing equipment. You'll travel to client locations across the UK and Ireland, following instructions from the Team Leader while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

Experience working on water treatment works would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install mechanical water processing and treatment equipment
  • Work safely in both workshop and on-site environments
  • Support the engineering team on installation projects
  • Follow technical drawings and work instructions
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard
  • Maintain excellent health and safety practices at all times
  • Travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland as required

Essential Requirements

  • Mechanical fitting experience
  • Experience working with mechanical equipment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid CSCS Card (Green minimum, Blue or Gold preferred)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • EUSR Water Hygiene
  • Confined Space
  • PASMA
  • First Aid
  • National Water Hygiene Card
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

A recognised mechanical apprenticeship and previous experience within the water treatment industry would be advantageous.
