MPI are currently recruiting for Permanent Aircraft Mechanical Technicians to work within the Cargo or Seat Bays
Based in Saffron Walden, Essex
THE POSITION
We are seeking a full time Mechanical Technician to join our Cargo and Seat Bay teams.
The role holder will report to the Mechanical, Seat and Cargo Bay Team Leader and the primary purpose of the job will be the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, part replacement and re-assembly of cargo nets, webbing and seat restraints in order to reduce costs and add value to our customers.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SEATS
Inspection and diagnosis of seat repairs and parts replacement requirements
Disassembly and cleaning of aircraft seat sets
Repair and parts replacement of aircraft seats
Reassembly of aircraft seat sets to required standards and timeframe
CARGO
Inspection and diagnosis of repairs and parts replacement requirements
Disassembly and cleaning of aircraft cargo nets, webbing and seat restraints
Repair and parts replacement of cargo nets, webbing and seat restraints
Reassembly of cargo nets, webbing and seat restraints to required standards and timeframe
Work in accordance with technical publications
Correlate all work carried out in accordance with part 145 requirements.
Adheres to all Company standard operating procedures
Adheres to all health and safety procedures
Meets workshop quality and housekeeping standards
Ensures all activity and works delivered meets the Company quality standards
Ensures all administration and systems inputs meets agreed standards
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Ideally, the successful candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Technician, ideally with specific experience in trimming and upholstery in aviation or motor manufacturing.
You will also have an understanding of technical publications and knowledge of Commercial Aerospace working practices. A recognised engineering qualification such as BTEC, BNC, ONC or HNC/HND is desirable but not essential. IT literate with the ability to use Word and Excel and a willingness to learn an industry software package (Aerotrac).
The individual will be a team player, willing to learn, disciplined, with an eye for detail and a self-starter.
