MPI are currently recruiting for a permanent aircraft mechanical technician's based to work in a workshop environment within the cargo bay near Saffron Walden.

Our client provides component repairs to a wide range of commercial aircraft operators including Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, ATR and Bombardier. THE POSITION

We are seeking a full time Mechanical Technician to join our cargo bay team based in Wendens Ambo, near Saffron Walden. The role holder will report to the Mechanical, Seat and Cargo Bay Team Leader and the primary purpose of the job will be to mechanically test, repair and overhaul a range of aircraft components in order to reduce costs and add value to our customers.

 

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Test, repair and overhaul of Aircraft components.

·         Use diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems effectively

·         Mechanical fault finding down to component level

·         Work in accordance with technical publications

·         Correlate all work carried out in accordance with part 145 requirements.

·         Work to component manuals and diagrams

·         Adheres to all Company standard operating procedures

·         Adheres to all health and safety procedures

·         Meets workshop quality and housekeeping standards

·         Ensures all activity and works delivered meets the Company quality standards

·         Ensures all administration and systems inputs meets agreed standards

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Ideally, the successful candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Technician with an aviation or similar engineering background. You will also have an understanding of technical publications and knowledge of Commercial Aerospace working practices. A recognised engineering qualification such as BTEC, BNC, ONC or HNC/HND is essential. IT literate with the ability to use Word and Excel and a willingness to learn an industry software package (Aerotrac). The individual will be a team player, willing to learn, disciplined, with an eye for detail and a self-starter.
