Each year we offset our residual carbon through a verified tree buddying programme, that plants native broadleaf trees in the UK and offset for each tonne through projects such as the Pacajai REDD+ in the Amazon rainforest, which is creating a protected area to prevent unplanned deforestation, conserve local ecosystems and allow areas of deforestation to regenerate.
Each year we hold a week of environmental activities during the Great Big Green Week, based around litter-picking, green travel to work, local biodiversity activities and other sustainability and community outreach initiatives.
MPI likes to work with companies with a strong sustainable and ethical ethos at their core. From Jamilla's ethical coffee to Wildhearts Stationary Company we are always looking for ways to make sure our supply chain has the same values we hold.
As part of our journey to net zero MPI invested in solar panels in May 2023. Since going live in the panels have produced 66.3 megawatts of energy for head office (66290kWh and climbing) (figures accurate July 2024).
